Helicopter operators are responsible by law (Air Navigation Order (ANO), Article 96)/BSL D5-1 2.1 to
ensure that all destinations to which they fly are suitable for the purpose. Certificates issued by
the HCA for helidecks which have been inspected in accordance with CAP 437 and the requirements of
the helicopter operators are deemed to be an acceptable means of meeting this responsibility.
Our experience has shown that oil and gas companies tend to focus more on key oil and gas facilities and activities, sometimes leaving essential aviation related facilities with less than desired safety oversight. Oceans Helideck Services is positioned to provide the operational inspections services to support oil companies in the rectification of identified defects to fill this potential gap.We have the technical support of the Helideck Certification Agency, HCA, UK under a technical support and working agreement. The HCA is the world's leading authority on all matters relating to the safe and compliant operation of helicopter landing areas - onshore, offshore and afloat. Inspection reports are sent to the Agency for proof review, and once verification is achieved helideck certificates, which are recognized by most countries and oil companies are issued.
Upstream Oil and Gas Companies with offshore helidecks and helicopter operators stand to gain immensely from our experience in helideck inspections and certification.
